Robert Buckley joins "One Tree Hill"

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Robert Buckley, probably best known for his boy-toy role on “Lipstick Jungle,” is joining the cast of “One Tree Hill.”

On the CW series, which enters its seventh season this fall, Buckley will play Clayton, a brash young sports agent who represents Nathan Scott (James Lafferty) and has become a close friend, business partner and advisor to him.

Brian Austin Green was in talks for the role early on, but a deal couldn’t be reached.

The upcoming season of “OTH” marks a major transition for the show, after the recent departure of two original cast members, Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton.

This past season, Buckley appeared in multiple episodes of another CW series, “Privileged.” On NBC’s “Lipstick Jungle,” which was canceled in March after two seasons, he played photographer Kirby Atwood, who was involved with magazine editor Nico (Kim Raver).
