Britney spotted partying before MTV show: US Weekly

- Britney Spears was four hours late for the first rehearsal for her performance at the MTV Video Music Awards earlier this week, says a source, then skipped the next night’s scheduled run-through. After her dancers rehearsed without her for three hours, Spears was spotted partying at Las Vegas nightclubs with fellow pop star Sean “Diddy” Combs until 3 a.m. The following evening Spears was out until 6 a.m., just 12 hours before her performance at the awards show. In total, Spears had rehearsed “only two or three times,” says an insider


- Right before going onstage at the VMA awards, Spears was visibly nervous. “She would not let anyone look at her,” an eyewitness says - IN TOUCH

- Moments after her performance, Spears ran off the stage -- and burst into tears. ”She knew she’d done horribly,“ an insider says. ”She just broke down.“ A friend says, ”She kept saying, “‘I‘m so embarrassed.’ She kept crying, blaming herself.” Just before the performance she fired her hairdresser, changed her outfit and had trouble walking in her stiletto boots - LIFE AND STYLE


- A source says actor Owen Wilson “has taken antidepression drugs that have taken a toll on him.” Meanwhile one of the actor’s co-stars in the hit comedy “Meet the Parents” is speaking out about Wilson’s attempted suicide last month. “It was heartbreaking to hear,” says actress Blythe Danner. Danner’s daughter, Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow, also dated Wilson’s actor-brother Luke. “I’ve met (their parents) and Luke and they’ve been so wonderful to us. Your heart goes out to them” - PEOPLE

- Rosie O‘Donnell admits in her new book that she deliberately broke her fingers with a hanger or a baseball bat when she was a child. The comedienne said she did this after her mother died - US WEEKLY

- Halle Berry, 41, is being treated by a doctor who specializes in high-risk pregnancies because the Oscar-winning actress suffers from diabetes. Berry, who is three months pregnant with her first child, “checks her blood-sugar levels a lot. She’s cut out caffeine, is eating lots of protein and is keeping her diet low in carbs,” an insider says - LIFE AND


- Actress Patricia Clarkson has purchased a one-bedroom, two-bath co-op in downtown New York City for $1.5 million. The home includes a walk-in closet and garden - IN TOUCH

- Actor Jamie Kennedy has bought a $2.25 million home in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles. The estate includes a pool, hot tub, fire pits, koi tank and private gardens, an insider says - IN TOUCH

- Brad Pitt and Edward Norton have been signed to star in a film adaptation of the British miniseries “State of Play.” The actors previously starred together in the thriller “Fight Club”



- Ben Kingsley has married actress Daniela Barbosa de Carneiro, 32. It is the fourth marriage for the 63-year-old Oscar winner - IN TOUCH

- Country singer Joe Nichols has married girlfriend Heather Singleton. The couple has dated on and off for 12 years -
