BEIJING (Reuters) - China’s trade surplus with the United States stood at $21.37 billion in March, Reuters calculations based on Chinese customs data showed on Tuesday, down from $23.01 billion in February.
Last month, President Joe Biden said the United States was not seeking confrontation with China over differences on trade, and urged his Chinese counterpart to play by international rules.
Trade tension between the two countries is running high as Beijing vowed steps to uphold the rights and interests of its firms after the United States put Chinese supercomputing entities on an economic blacklist.
