White House: China tire row won't cloud other issues

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The White House said on Monday it did not expect the U.S. decision to restrict tire imports from China to cause friction on other issues of interest to the two countries such as the North Korean nuclear standoff.

“I don’t see that a dispute like this will cause ... countries like the United States and China to get off track on things that are very important in terms of global matters,” White House spokesman Robert Gibbs told reporters on Air Force One.
