German coalition parties reach deal on climate protection package: source

BERLIN (Reuters) - Germany’s government parties have reached a deal on a climate protection package which includes provisions to make sure that any future deviations from carbon emissions cuts targets can be corrected, a source close to the negotiations said on Friday.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s conservatives and her Social Democrat coalition partners negotiated through the night to thrash out the climate protection package.
