DAVOS, Switzerland (Reuters) - Market uncertainty has made it a good time to invest in technology companies, a managing director (MD) of private equity firm Silver Lake said on Friday.
“It’s actually a good time for technology investments right now because of all the uncertainty ... because prices are coming down,” Charlie Giancarlo, MD of the technology-based fund, told Reuters at the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum.
“(This is) even though economic performance of many of these companies remains solid, or at least the long-term performance remains very positive,” Giancarlo said.
“So it’s a very good time. (There are) a lot of interesting areas: there is semiconductors, software remains a very exciting area and actually services around technology, these are very good.”
