China reports first confirmed H1N1 case

BEIJING (Reuters) - Mainland China has reported its first confirmed case of the new strain of flu, H1N1, a man in southwestern Sichuan province, state media said on Monday.

“This is the mainland’s first confirmed case of type A H1N1 flu,” the official Xinhua news agency said, citing the Health Ministry.

Over the weekend, a Mexican traveler confirmed as the Chinese territory of Hong Kong’s first and only case of the new strain was released from hospital.
