KANSAS CITY (Reuters) - Nebraska health authorities said Thursday that a man in his 40s has been confirmed as having the H1N1 swine flu, the first case in the Midwestern farm state.
The California resident became ill while vacationing in Nebraska, and is now recovering, said Marla Augustine, spokeswoman for he Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. He is recovering, she said.
State health authorities said two new probable cases have also been identified - a Missouri man who is hospitalized in Nebraska, and an elderly woman who is recovering at home.
