France says Tunisia ex-leader not welcome

PARIS (Reuters) - France does not want Tunisia’s ousted President Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali in the country, a senior French official said on Friday.

“France does not want the arrival of the Tunisian President on its soil,” the official, who declined to be identified, told Reuters following initial reports Ben Ali was headed to Paris.

Later, Al Jazeera television reported he was flying to the Gulf.
