Italy considers shutting down Milan Linate, other airports due to coronavirus: source

ROME (Reuters) - The Italian authorities are considering shutting down Milan Linate and other airports due to the coronavirus outbreak, a government source told Reuters on Thursday.

“The situation is really critical”, said the source asking not to be named because of the sensibility of the matter.

On Wednesday Italy added new restrictions to a lockdown imposed to fight the coronavirus after reporting the highest daily increase in deaths of any country since the outbreak.
