U.S. envoy discussed detained Americans with Iran

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - A U.S. envoy had a brief chat with Iran’s foreign minister on the fate of four Americans held in Iran during a dinner party the Iranian mission threw for the Security Council, a U.S. official said on Friday.

U.S. Deputy Ambassador to the United Nations Alejandro Wolff “did have a chat with Mottaki about the three hikers and (ex-FBI agent) Robert Levinson” on Thursday evening, a U.S. official said. All four have been detained in Iran.
