TOKYO (Reuters) - An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.8 hit the Kumamoto prefecture in southern Japan on Monday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.

Two deadly quakes hit the same region last week, killing 42 and injuring more than 1,000.
