North Korea envoys deliver message from Kim to South

SEOUL (Reuters) - Senior North Korean officials delivered a message from leader Kim Jong-il to the South’s president in a meeting on Sunday, in what was likely the first direct communication between the two leaders of the rival Koreas.

“The North delegation delivered leader Kim Jong-il’s verbal message as to the progress in North-South Korean cooperation,” presidential spokesman Lee Dong-kwan said in a televised briefing.
