NEW YORK (Reuters) - Xerox Corp (XRX.N) does not see printer maker Lexmark International Inc LXK.N as the kind of company it might try to acquire, Xerox Chief Executive Anne Mulcahy said on Friday.
“Our principles on acquisition is ... synergies where we can acquire a company and use it to drive incremental growth in our core business,” she said in response to a question on an analyst conference call. “I don’t think Lexmark is an ideal candidate with that kind of view.”
Lexmark has been a rumored as a potential takeover target for months due to its competitive laser printers, proven ability to generate cash, and deflated stock price.
