Luxottica gets early antitrust nod for Oakley acquisition

(Reuters) - Italian eyewear company Luxottica Group LUX.N (LUX.MI) said U.S. regulators granted an early termination of the antitrust waiting period for its proposed acquisition of U.S. sunglass maker Oakley Inc OO.N.

The waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act expired early, without a second request for additional information, Luxottica said in a statement.

In June, Luxottica had agreed to buy Oakley for about $2.1 billion in cash.
