KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters) - Malaysia’s king, Sultan Muhammad V, has decided to invite Mahathir Mohamad to form the next federal government, palace officials said in a statement on Thursday.
The monarch will swear in Mahathir as Prime Minister at 2130 hours (1330 GMT), it added.
“His Majesty strongly supports and respects the democratic process and the wishes of his subjects,” it said.
