Turkey 'insists' on safe zones, support for moderate Syrian forces: Erdogan

ISTANBUL (Reuters) - Turkey insists on the creation of “safe zones” in northern Syria and rapid implementation of proposals to train and equip moderate rebels, President Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday.

Erdogan was speaking to a group of neighborhood officials in the capital, Ankara, and his comments were broadcast live on television.
