Moldova's Socialists, Democratic Party neck and neck in parliamentary election

CHISINAU (Reuters) - Moldova’s opposition Socialist Party and the ruling Democratic Party were neck and neck in Sunday’s parliamentary election, reflecting opinion polls that had predicted a hung parliament.

With 30 percent of votes counted, the Socialists had a share of 29.5 percent, while the Democratic Party had 28.8 percent, according to preliminary results published on the election commission’s website.
