White House says more work needed to bring democracy in Myanmar

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The White House said on Monday that it congratulates the people of Myanmar following their election, but there is an indication that additional work is needed to bring about effective democracy in the country.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest said it is too early to tell whether U.S. policy towards the country will change as a result of the election.
