Myanmar monks chant "democracy" on Yangon march

YANGON (Reuters) - About 10,000 Buddhist monks marched to Myanmar’s Sule Pagoda in central Yangon on Tuesday, their leaders chanting “democracy, democracy” in defiance of the military junta’s threat to use force against protesters.

“The streets are lined with people clapping and cheering them on,” but there was no sign of any soldiers, a witness said.
