NEW YORK (Reuters) - NBA number one draft pick John Wall of the Washington Wizards lived up to his billing by being named most outstanding player of the Las Vegas Summer League that ended on Sunday.

The point guard led all players in scoring with a 23.5 average and in assists by dealing out 7.8 per game over four contests.

Center DeMarcus Cousins, fifth overall pick of the draft by the Sacramento Kings, was honored as rookie of the month for his showing despite struggling in his last game, shooting 1-for-12 from the floor.

Both Wall and Cousins played at the University of Kentucky.
