NEW YORK (Reuters) - Pittsburgh center Sidney Crosby scored his 100th career goal and collected three assists to set two other personal milestones in the Penguins’ 4-1 victory over the visiting Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday.

The 21-year-old Crosby also surpassed both 200 career assists and 300 points in the breakout game. He now has 202 assists and 302 points in 219 NHL games.

“It’s not what you play for, but they are great accomplishments,” Crosby told reporters.

“We wanted to make things happen,” said Crosby, who played on the same line with Pittsburgh’s other key scorer, Evgeni Malkin, for the first full game this season.

Malkin finished with four assists to boost his career points total to 201 in 166 NHL games.

Crosby and Malkin assisted on goals by Pascal Dupuis and Miroslav Satan before Crosby scored his first goal of the season off a Malkin assist 12:15 into the third period. That gave Pittsburgh a 3-1 lead.

“I don’t expect four-point nights, but I definitely want to score,” Crosby said. “It (the goal) was definitely welcome.”

He and Malkin added their final assists on Petr Sykora’s powerplay goal later in the third period.

The assists gave Malkin a team-leading eight for the season and Crosby seven as the Penguins improved to 3-2-1.
