Kings' Greene signs new five-year deal

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Los Angeles Kings defenseman Matt Greene has signed a five-year contract extension through to the 2013-14 season, the club said on Friday.

Green’s contract was due to expire at the end of the season and his new deal comes six days after center Anze Kopitar signed a seven-year contract extension.

Greene, 25, is in his first season with the Kings after playing the last three with the Edmonton Oilers.

The club did not give any details of Greene’s salary.
