Factbox: Security developments in Pakistan, Dec 10

(Reuters) - Following are security developments in Pakistan at 1403 GMT on Friday:

* HANGU - A suicide car bomber rammed his vehicle into a hospital in a town in northwest Pakistan Friday, killing at least 11 people, officials said, in what appeared to be a sectarian attack.

Pakistan has been bracing for sectarian violence during Moharram, the holiest month for Shi’ite Muslims, which began on Wednesday. Sunni militant groups often attack Shi’ite gatherings during this period.

* NORTH WAZIRISTAN - Four missiles fired by a U.S. drone aircraft struck a house and a vehicle in Pakistan’s North Waziristan region on the Afghan border, killing four militants, security officials said. Militants often dismiss official death tolls cited after such attacks.

SOUTH WAZIRISTAN - Pakistani security forces backed by helicopter gunship’s killed 5 militants in a clash in their bastion of Sararogha Friday, security officials said.

Four militants were killed Thursday in the same region after insurgents attacked a check post and killed a paramilitary soldier and wounded three others, officials said.
