Pope lands in temporary residence after leaving Vatican

CASTEL GANDOLFO, Italy (Reuters) - Pope Benedict’s helicopter landed in Castel Gandolfo, just south of Rome, on Thursday where at 8 p.m. (1900 GMT) he will resign and leave the papacy vacant.
