Haiti sees 140,000 dead, fears violence

PORT-AU-PRINCE (Reuters) - Haitian authorities have buried 40,000 bodies and believe another 100,000 people probably died in this week’s earthquake, a senior official told Reuters on Friday.

Aramick Louis, secretary of state for public safety, also said that gangs were starting to take to the streets and the government’s main fear was a flare-up of violence..
