HOUSTON (Reuters) - Royal Dutch Shell Plc began planned maintenance on Wednesday on the coker at its 225,300 barrel-per-day (bpd) Norco, Louisiana, refinery, said sources familiar with plant operations.

The 25,000-bpd coker will remain in operation at reduced production levels while excess carbon is being removed from the unit, the sources said.
