MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has sacked the commander of the Baltic Fleet and his chief of staff for “dereliction of duty” and “distortion of the real state of things”, Russian media reported on Wednesday.

Shoigu cited “serious drawbacks” in the military training and everyday activities of the fleet’s units and “a lack of proper care for the personnel”.
