South Africa to export biodiesel to Germany: report

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - South Africa has secured a long term contract to export between 70-90 percent of the output from a planned 400,000 ton a year biodiesel plant to Germany, the Business Day newspaper reported on Thursday.

An environmental impact assessment for the project was underway, and production would start in 2010, the paper said citing on official for the East London Industrial Development Zone.

It said canola would be the feedstock for the biodiesel plant.
