South African power outages enter third day amid protests over wages

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - South Africa’s state power firm Eskom said on Saturday controlled power outages would be imposed from 17:00-22:00 local time (1500-2000 GMT) amid protests over wages.

Eskom, which produces more than 90 percent of South Africa’s power, is grappling with labor unrest over a wage dispute. It implemented power outages for the first time since 2015 on Thursday.
