South Africa's spending on higher education should be increased: presidency commission

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - South Africa should raise spending on higher education and training to 1 percent of gross domestic product from 0.75 percent at present, a presidential commission report released on Monday found.

South Africa has a GDP of around $300 billion. A 0.25 percent increase in education spending would amount to around $750 million.
