South African prosecutor calls for probe after abuses

PRETORIA (Reuters) - South Africa’s chief prosecutor called Monday for an investigation into “abuses of process” he said took place in a legal case against ANC leader Jacob Zuma, but said there was no conclusive evidence former President Thabo Mbeki was involved.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) Monday dropped charges against Zuma on grounds the case was manipulated.
