Suspicious package investigated in NY's Times Square

NEW YORK (Reuters) - New York City authorities briefly shut down a street in Times Square after investigating a suspicious package on Monday which turned out not to be dangerous, the city’s fire department said.

The city is on high security alert after the killing of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in Pakistan on Monday.
