Southern Copper says Peru workers strike but no impact

SANTIAGO (Reuters) - Southern Copper Corp said late on Tuesday that one of five unions for its workers in Peru had started an indefinite strike but that the stoppage had not affected normal operations at its mines.

The strike started at 00:00 (05:00 GMT) on Tuesday, the company said in a statement to Peru’s market regulator without providing additional details. Union representatives could not immediately be reached for comment.
