Japan protests against South Korea's scrapping of intelligence-sharing pact: NHK

TOKYO (Reuters) - Japan’s government has protested against South Korea’s scrapping of an intelligence-sharing pact between them, national broadcaster NHK reported on Thursday.

South Korea said earlier it would not extend the arrangement, which is designed to share sensitive information on the threat posed by North Korea’s missile and nuclear activities.

The decision threatens to further escalate a dispute over history and trade between Japan and South Korea.
