MADRID (Reuters) - Spain’s government has approved cuts to windpower subsidies totaling 35 percent between now and 2012, it said in a statement on Friday.

The cuts to renewable energy subsidies will save 1.1 billion euros ($1.45 billion) up to 2013, it added.
