Global steel output rose 6.4 percent year-on-year in April

LONDON, (Reuters) - Global crude steel production rose 6.4 percent to 157 million tonnes in April from the same month a year ago, figures from the World Steel Association showed on Monday.

Crude steel output from China, the world’s top producer and consumer of the alloy, rose to 85.0 million tonnes, up 12.7 percent from April 2018.
