Marathon Galveston Bay refinery restarting after Harvey: sources

HOUSTON (Reuters) - Marathon Petroleum Corp was restarting its 459,000 barrel per day (bpd) Galveston Bay Refinery on Wednesday after it was shut by Tropical Storm Harvey, said sources familiar with plant operations.

Marathon spokeswoman Stefanie Griffith declined to comment.

Energy industry intelligence service Genscape said on Wednesday that one of the refinery’s two 225,000 bpd crude distillation units appeared to have restarted based on an observation of activity levels at the unit.
