Valero says Corpus Christi, Texas City refineries at pre-Harvey levels

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Valero Energy Corp (VLO.N) said on Monday its Corpus Christi and Texas City oil refineries had recovered to pre-hurricane levels of operation.

The 293,000 barrel-per-day (bpd) Corpus Christi, Texas, refinery was shut on Aug. 24 as powerful Hurricane Harvey approached the Gulf Coast.

The 225,000-bpd Texas City, Texas, refinery hit full production over the weekend after Valero cut back production during the storm.

Valero also said it was making preparations to resume operations at the 293,000 bpd Port Arthur refinery as it was in the “final stages” of evaluating storm damage.

The 191,000 bpd Houston refinery will increase rates “as transportation and logistics infrastructure becomes more available,” it said in a statement, while the 89,000 bpd Three Rivers refinery was ramping up operations.
