Ex-president's aide faces violence charges: report

TUNIS (Reuters) - The official in charge of security for Tunisia’s ousted president is to appear in court on charges of fomenting violence and threatening national security, state television reported on Sunday.

“The ex-head of presidential security will appear before a court for having created division among the people, threatened national security and provoked armed violence among Tunisians,” state television said.

Ali Seriati was head of security for President Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali, who was forced from office on Friday.
