Participants say progress made in debt-limit meeting

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Top lawmakers made progress on Tuesday during a second meeting aimed at finding a way to raise the country’s soon-to-be-reached debt limit, participants said.

Democratic Senator Max Baucus said the meeting was “better than the last one,” while Vice President Joe Biden, also a Democrat, said the group made progress.

The group will next meet on Thursday, Baucus said.
