WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on Thursday lawmakers will move “on many fronts” on the stalled healthcare overhaul, and could pass smaller pieces of the bill separately.
“Some things we can do on the side,” Pelosi said of the healthcare bill the day after President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address to Congress. “We will move on many fronts — any front we can.”
Pelosi also said jobs creation, Obama’s new top election-year priority, should be a central part of pending energy and education legislation.
