NAFTA deal very difficult before Mexico election: Guajardo

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Mexico’s economy minister said on Thursday that it would be “very difficult” to reach a deal to revamp NAFTA before Mexico’s July 1 presidential election.

Speaking on local radio, Mexican Economy Minister Ildefonso Guajardo said U.S. tariffs on steel and aluminum would have an impact on negotiations to overhaul the North American Free Trade Agreement, but talks would continue.
