Taiwan says contact with Trump agreed ahead of time-presidential office

TAIPEI (Reuters) - The telephone call between Taiwan president Tsai Ing-wen and U.S. president-elect Donald Trump was agreed to ahead of time, said presidential office spokesman Alex Huang on Saturday.

“Of course both sides agreed ahead of time before making contact,” Huang told Reuters, when asked about Trump’s Twitter message stating that it was Tsai who called him.
