Venezuela removes U.S.-sanctioned Zerpa as CFO of state oil company

CARACAS (Reuters) - Venezuela has removed Simon Zerpa, who was sanctioned last year by the United States, as the chief financial officer of state oil company PDVSA , according to the country’s official gazette on Thursday.

It was not immediately clear why Zerpa was removed. Iliana Ruzza was named as his replacement, the gazette added.
