Actor falls for true-life political romance

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Brian White has been cast in the romantic comedy “Politics of Love,” a feature inspired by the real-life romances that blossomed during the 2008 presidential campaign.

White will play a black volunteer coordinator working for the local John McCain office who strikes unexpected sparks with an Indian devotee of Barack Obama (Mallika Sherawat). Ruby Dee, Gerry Bednob and Loretta Devine co-star.

William Dear (“The Perfect Game”) is directing a screenplay by Gary Goldstein (“If You Only Knew”).

White has a recurring role on the TNT series “Men of a Certain Age.” He most recently appeared in the features “I Can Do Bad All by Myself,” “Twelve Rounds” and “Fighting.”
