U.S. 5-year note sold at highest yield since Sept 2008

NEW YORK, May 23 (Reuters) - The U.S. Treasury Department on Wednesday sold $36 billion of five-year government notes at a yield of 2.864 percent, which was the highest yield at an auction of this maturity since September 2008, Treasury data showed.

The ratio of bids to the amount offered was 2.52, matching the level last seen at a five-year auction in September. This gauge of overall auction demand was 2.49. (Reporting by Richard Leong Editing by Nick Zieminski)
