TREASURIES-U.S. T-bill rates fall on reports of debt ceiling increase plans

NEW YORK, Sept 6 (Reuters) - Interest rates on U.S. Treasury bills due in October fell sharply on Wednesday, prompted by news of proposals among some federal lawmakers to tie relief aid for Hurricane Harvey with an increase in the debt ceiling.

At 10:15 a.m. (1415 GMT), the interest rate on T-bills due on Oct. 5 dropped 13 basis points to 1.1225 percent, the lowest level since last Friday, Reuters data showed.
