Hospital's nurse peer-review process not union-proof - D.C. Circuit

A federal appeals court on Friday rejected a Kansas hospital’s industry-supported bid to prevent union involvement in its state-mandated peer-review process for nurses.

The D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the National Labor Relations Board’s ruling that since Menorah Medical Center’s peer-review committee was not a political subdivision of Kansas, it was subject to the National Labor Relations Act. The hospital was represented by Shay Dvoretzky of Jones Day.
