U.S. Senate acts to end military ban on gays

WASHINGTON, Dec 18 (Reuters) - A majority of the U.S. Senate on Saturday voted to repeal the ban against gays serving openly in the U.S. military. The measure next goes to President Barack Obama for his signature since it had passed the House of Representatives earlier in the week. (Reporting by Donna Smith; Editing by Jackie Frank)
